"I am very proud of this award as it demonstrates that Cazalys is a leader in its contributions and involvement with the wider community" General Manager Jason Salecich said. POWER to the People - 7th Feb 2011

Cyclone Yasi bought yet another cycle of wind and destruction to rural districts south of Cairns in early Feburary , leaving homes and business trashed and power and phones cut to the area. A call out was given from Tenni's Heavy Vehicle Driver Training  who were driving up and down the coast offering physical and mental support to the area, that the Bingle Bay Cafe required a generator to power a washing machine for the community to use. Cazalys was able to source and hire a generator, and Tenni's did the delivering to a greatful group of people, in freshly washed clothes!

Cairns Gives Back: Flood Relief Appeal - 26th Jan 2011

It was not so long ago after Cyclone Larry that Cairns and districts received a helping hand from the rest of Australia. Local business donated prizes and Cazalys sold tickets from the Club and online. Several thousand dollars was raised and donated on behalf of the Cairns Community.

I beleive in Christmas Salvation Army Toy Drive - 17th Dec 2010

The end of the Cazalys ‘I believe in Christmas’ Toy Drive drew to a close on Friday the 17th of December with the official handover to the Salvation Army.

The Toy Drive kicked off on Monday the 22nd of November with Cairns locals and business encouraged to donate new toys and cash for the Salvo’s to distribute to families in need over the Christmas period. The pile of presents under the Christmas tree at Cazalys slowly grew to epic proportions, with the toys rising above the fence that was meant to hold them in.

Major Colin Robinson of the Salvation Army was on hand to collect the toys “I’m just amazed at the generosity of Australians, especially around Christmas time”. “The toys will be distributed amongst kids from needy families within the Cairns region, which will also be accompanied with a food hamper”. The mountain of presents was so high this year that one of the Salvation Armies furniture trucks had to be called in to make the pick up.

Always pleased to lend a helping hand was the Cazalys Christmas Elves, who also donated $1,000 cash on behalf of the Club and it’s members.
